The Last Rose of Autumn

The Last Rose of Autumn

This rose is still blooming in Brooklyn, New York – and it’s the middle of November!  I love how temperate the climate of Brooklyn is.  The rose reminds me of a song by my all-time favorite Broadway composer, the one and only Jerry Herman.  The song goes:

“The best of times is now,

What’s left of summer but a faded rose?

The best of times is now,

As for tomorrow well, who knows, who knows, who knows?”

What a lovely autumn this has been.  Let’s hope for the best of times tomorrow, too!
