Come one, come all! Tomorrow night, May 19th, 6:00 PM, I’ll be speaking about my book, MAMA ROSE’S TURN, at the Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings, Minnesota.
Rose Hovick’s story ended in the lights of Broadway. She got there by way of Seattle, but her story BEGAN in Dakota County, Minnesota. Once upon a time, back in the 1860’s, Rose’s family owned a rollicking saloon on the corner of Oak and Third Streets in Farmington. The customers of that saloon made such a racket that the Temperance crowd in Farmington wanted the place closed down. Ah, if only that corner could talk…!
Minnesota, by the way, is absolutely beautiful! This is one of the prettiest states I’ve ever seen. I am so happy to be here!
