I’m always delighted at the spirit displayed by my fellow New Yorkers, and what I saw this morning is no exception.
People all over the world are in shock over the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and several other people, including two more teenagers, in a helicopter crash in California. It’s so sad.
Yet somebody in New York City created a unique little tribute to the fallen basketball star, and I love it. Someone changed the “42nd Street Bryant Park” sign in the subway to read “Kobe Bryant Park.”
I hope the MTA allows this to stand. There’s no reason at all why “Bryant Park” can’t have the name “Kobe” in front of it. It’s brilliant, so to whoever did this, BRAVO!
